It kinda works like that , if you have fun and chill while trying to give your best cause u wanna push your limits then its a lot better than playing just to win with frustration after one mess up.
Flow state ftw!
Mizushima finally looks like MC
Mizushima said he’s only got “tenacity” over Matsuda, but really he has a whole lot more. Sure his technical ability and technique aren’t anywhere near Matsuda, but he’s got more stamina and flexibility. Those are his strong suits. Mizushima seems to be able to adjust his play with relative ease. Matsuda just seems way too rigid. When things don’t go his way, he panics and it’s just all over for him.
Mizushima was so focused this game, he was like another player. We even saw his body kind of move on his own. He was able to both focus and have fun at the same time. Matsuda meanwhile was just panicking the entire game, over analyzing everything. That plus his lack of stamina kinda of killed him. But man, that was a great match. I hope Matsuda figured out his real issue soon. Stamina is just part of it.
This next doubles game against Mizushima’s buddies is gonna be rough. I can see Mizushima hesitating already and them possibly tying in that first game. I bet his buddy’s gonna tell him to treat this like any other game and play for real, leading to a victory for Mizushima. It’s either that or Mizushima goes for the kill early on and wins, but it causes static with his buddies.
Lol that intense look on Matsuda's face when he saw Ryou smiling was amusing. Ryou was really in the zone it was like he was brainwashing himself and it worked in his favor especially because Matsuda was rushing too much because he didn't want to let it become a contest of stamina.
Looks like next episode will be filled with more drama with Ryou feeling the dilemma of targeting Shizuo since he has an injured leg, and they will probably realize he's holding back against them which will annoy them.
ah, but putting myself in ryou's shoes i wouldnt want to target my injured friend either :( He's got quite the dilemma indeed. must say hearing that from his coach though seemed incredibly cut throat though he probably didnt know that they are friends
Ugh, that's definitely a strategy Coach but doing it to your friend that is injured is just kinda cruel.
yah coach was being super insensitive.ryou could just play as he would usually have without aiming anyone in particular.
Finally facing off with his friends
wonder if this is the first time sakaki would be seeing ryou's middle school friends.
Welp he is not Tanjiro for nothing!!
and of course the only hint of "love interest" for the mc is because of the "love for the sport"
I love you! "Sorry, I love badminton." :P
NOT End
Well it's gonna have a 2nd-cour so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I thought it was finally over. -__-
I mean, uhh... yay~ >_>
I saw it on LiveChart it's gonna go through the summer from what it looks like and eps are unknown
The whole player development was poorly executed.
The pace was off. There was no climax. The whole : "Sugoi, sugoi", "he is having fun", "what is this feeling", was stupid.
Poor writing in general.
Only Yusa, Mizushima's sister and the twins, made it worth it for me.
4/10
it's not over though somehow LMAO
It seems like that due to the phrasing, but I think Mizushima went into the Flow state, which is common in sports. It occurs when your mind clears, your senses and focus on the sport is heightened, and your performance improves. Another side effect is that people feel like they're having more fun or like time slows down. Look it up, it's actually quite interesting.
Simp!
Roflmao, she called him friend many times in his face.
"Sweep the leg." - John Kreese-sensei Coach Ebihara. :P
ofc if there is an injury, one strategy you can do is to target it...
but ofcourse, he is a friend of the mc.. so he might have conflicting feelings :D
if thats the case, one can always use reverse psychology n fake an injury by putting a bandage on a perfectly ok leg to mislead the opponent?
Wish we could've seen more of Mizushima vs Matsuda match since their first one was so intense, but it's finally time for the middle school trio to face off! Shizuo's knee looks really bad though :(
Time for a Saturday morning dosage of badminton!
Nice to see Mizushima. He going get more better.
idk if its just me, but as a badminton player, their technique to skill ratio really bothers me. just the fact that they never return to the middle but stand around waiting for the next shot instead. also how they can do jump smashes but dont have proper footwork. i can look past the racket technique since its an anime, but when someone is standing by the net and the opponent returns it to the back of the court, itll obviously be hard to return. i mean i think the show itself is wholesome and focuses more on team bonds and dedication, just this episode is bothering me more so than previous ones.
hmmm.... okay the technique he had those few moments while he was finally immersed in the game looked okay. full racket swings, the split step (as haikyuu called it cause i never learned the name for it, just did it instinctively), the kind of centre return...etc. the way he ran to the back of the court was still kinda weird tho.
Honestly tho hes development for me was to sudden even with the past episodes for that purpose, all he did was run and team practice (well thats for the stamina part). idk maybe because he is a technical type or this isnt shonen, all good tho.
I LIKE HER SO MUCH LOL 😂😂😂😂😂

Feels sad to see Matsuda lose! I really liked him! :(
Couch Zoro has no chill
Good match! Looks like Mizushima going to hold back next episode, and then , they gonna be angry at him
how many eps is this?
even myanimelist does not have the total # of episodes for this :(
yeah i know i had a look and couldnt see either but apparently its 24 which is good!
His soft heart is going to be a problem on the next episode.
he should just play as usual, without taking his coach's advice.that way he no need to feel guilty about taking advantage of his friend's handicap.
So having fun adds more chances of winning lol
